How to Assemble & Install Your Retractable Side Awning
Follow each stage in order carefully to make your awning in a useful way.
Step 1 – Attach the Wall-Mount Brackets (C) to the Cassette Post (A)

- Position the Retractable Cassette Post (A) vertically on a flat surface with the mounting side facing you.
- Align each Wall-Mount Bracket (C) with the pre-drilled holes located at the top and bottom of the cassette post.
- Insert the M5×12 Screw (G) through the bracket holes and into the threaded inserts on the post.
- Tighten the screws until the brackets sit firmly against the cassette post—do not overtighten.
- Ensure both brackets (top and bottom) are aligned straight to allow proper wall mounting later.
Double-check that the brackets are securely attached before moving to the next step.
Step 2 – Mark, Drill, and Prepare the Wall for Mounting

- Hold the cassette post (A) with brackets attached against the wall at the desired height.
- Use a pencil to mark the drilling points through the holes of the Wall-Mount Brackets (C).
- Remove the post and prepare a drill fitted with a 9 mm (0.35 in) masonry drill bit.
- Drill holes at each of the marked points to the proper depth for the wall anchors.
- Insert the Anchors (E) into each hole, tapping lightly if needed to sit them flush with the wall.
- Position the cassette post back against the wall and align bracket holes with the inserted anchors.
- Use the ST5×30 Screws (F) to secure the brackets firmly into place.
Step 3 – Position the Receiving Post (B)

- Measure the distance from the mounted cassette post (A) to where the screen will fully extend.
- Ensure the measurement does not exceed 400 cm / 157.48 in, the maximum extension length.
- Place the receiving post (B) at the correct location on the ground, aligned directly with the cassette post.
- Adjust the angle of post B so the base plate sits flat and stable on the installation surface.
- Keep the post upright and ensure it is positioned in a straight line with post A for smooth screen operation.
Step 4 – Install the Receiving Post (B) into the Ground

No.1 – Drill Ground Holes
- Mark four hole positions for the base plate of post B.
- Use a 12 mm (0.47 in) drill bit to drill holes approximately 50 mm (1.97 in) deep.
- Ensure the holes are straight and evenly aligned with the base plate.
No.2 – Insert Anchors (E)
- Push the wall/ground anchors (E) into each drilled hole.
- Tap them gently with a hammer if needed to seat them fully.
No.3 – Position the Base Plate
- Place the base plate of post B over the drilled and anchored holes.
- Align all four mounting holes with the anchors before inserting bolts.
No.4 – Secure with Bolts (D)
- Insert the M8×50 bolts (D) through the base plate holes.
- Add washers (if included in your set) before tightening.
- Use a wrench to firmly tighten all bolts until the post is stable.
No.5 – Confirm Upright Alignment
- Ensure post B stands straight and secure.
- Adjust slightly before fully tightening if any tilt is visible.
Step 5 – Confirm Both Posts Are Installed Correctly

- Make sure the Retractable Cassette Post (A) is fully mounted to the wall using the brackets and screws installed in previous steps.
- Confirm that Post A is straight, secure, and the handle mechanism moves freely with no obstruction.
- Check that the Receiving Post (B) is firmly anchored to the ground and standing vertically without leaning.
- Verify the distance between Post A and Post B does not exceed 400 cm / 157.48 in (the maximum extension length of the screen).
- Ensure both posts are correctly aligned with each other so the screen will pull straight across without tension or dragging.
Step 6 – Extend the Privacy Screen Toward the Receiving Post

- Grip the handle on the retractable cassette post (A) firmly using one hand.
- Gently pull the privacy screen outward in a straight, smooth motion.
- Keep the screen level as you extend it toward the receiving post (B) to prevent sagging or twisting.
- Continue pulling until the screen reaches the full extension length or the desired stopping point (up to 400 cm / 157.48 in).
- Position the handle bar near the top latch area of Post B, preparing it to lock into place in the next step.
Step 7 – Lock the Handle Bar Into the Receiving Post (Final Step)

- Align the handle bar on the extended screen with the slot on the receiving post (B).
- Lower the handle straight down into the locking bracket on Post B until it securely drops into place.
- Ensure the bottom latch engages properly—listen or feel for a slight “click” indicating it is fully seated.
- Check that the screen is tensioned evenly from top to bottom with no sagging.
- Lightly pull the handle backward to confirm it is locked and won’t detach unintentionally.
- Your retractable side awning installation is now complete and ready for use.

FAQs
1. Why won’t my awning retract smoothly?
Inspect the track for dirt, debris, or any obstructions that may hinder the retraction. Ensure the cassette post is level and there are no structural misalignments. Lubricating the moving parts can also help smooth operation.
2. How can I prolong the life of my awning fabric?
Clean the fabric regularly with mild soap and lukewarm water. Always ensure the fabric is dry before retracting to prevent mold and mildew buildup. Store the awning retracted during harsh weather conditions for added longevity.
3. What if my awning seems misaligned during installation?
Check that both posts are level and properly secured before extending the screen. Measure the distance between posts to ensure it doesn’t exceed the maximum extension length of 400 cm. Make adjustments to the base or anchor points if misalignment occurs.
