Instructions:

  • Carefully turn the fully assembled bench upright and place it on a flat, stable surface like your patio or deck.
  • Check if the Outsunny Wood Adirondack Patio Chair Bench (SKU:84B-398) stands evenly. Since this model does not use adjustable leveling feet, if the bench is slightly uneven or wobbles:
    • Slightly loosen the connections on the legs (Left Front/Rear Angled Leg (G) and Right Front/Rear Angled Leg (H)).
    • Let the bench settle under its own weight on the ground.
    • Retighten the connections gradually while the bench is resting flat, which should remove the wobble.
  • Before use, double-check that every piece of hardware, including the M8 × 140 Bolts (K), M4 × 30 Screws (L), and M5 × 50 Screws (M), is fully tightened and secure.

Once the bench is level and stable, your assembly is complete. Enjoy a cozy, stylish addition to your outdoor space!

Safety Precautions

  • Assemble the bench on a flat, stable, and clean surface to prevent misalignment, dents, or wobbling.
  • Keep children and pets away from the assembly area to avoid accidents with small hardware pieces.
  • Do not overload the bench; avoid exceeding the weight capacity of 330 lbs (150 kg) per seat and 44 lbs (20 kg) for the Center Table Panel (E).
  • Do not hang or suspend objects from the chair structure.
  • Ensure all screws (L, M) and bolts (K) are fully tightened before using the bench.
  • Never use the bench in bad weather conditions.
  • Check stability regularly, especially after moving the bench, to ensure all connections remain secure.
  • Do not lean, sit, or stand on the Center Table Panel (E) or the armrests.

Care & Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the fir wood surfaces and frame with a soft, damp cloth or soft brush. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, or strong cleaners that may damage the carbonized finish.
  • Outdoor Protection: Although the fir wood is weather-resistant, storing the bench indoors or covering it during extreme weather (heavy rain, snow, or high heat) will significantly extend its lifespan.
  • Maintenance: Periodically check all hardware (K, L, M) to ensure the screws and bolts remain tight, as temperature changes and outdoor exposure can cause them to loosen over time.
  • Fabric/Cushions (If Applicable): Keep any fabric or cushion parts dry and protect them from prolonged direct moisture.

FAQs

1. What should I do if the wood surface develops small cracks or splinters over time?

Small cracks, known as checking, are a natural occurrence in outdoor wooden furniture, especially fir wood, as it adjusts to humidity and temperature changes. These rarely affect the bench’s structural integrity. You can easily sand down any rough spots or splinters and apply a clear outdoor sealant or paint to maintain the finish and protect the wood from further weathering.

2. Why does one side of my bench feel slightly tighter or harder to move during assembly?

This usually happens when screws on one side are tightened earlier than the other, causing uneven tension. Loosen the screws on both sides slightly, allow the frame to relax into position, and then retighten everything gradually in sequence to balance the structure.

3. The Center Table Panel seems slightly uneven after installation. What should I do?

An uneven table surface is often caused by misalignment of the Center Support Connectors. Loosen the screws holding the Center Table Panel, adjust the connectors until the panel sits level, and retighten the screws slowly to maintain even pressure.

4. What if the screws do not grip tightly into the wood?

If screws feel loose, the pilot holes may have widened slightly. Remove the screw, insert a small wooden toothpick or dowel coated with wood glue into the hole, allow it to dry, and reinstall the screw for a firm hold.
