Assembly Instructions
When you are going to assemble your Outsunny 10′ × 3′ Manual Retractable Awning follow the steps carefully and refer to the images for guidance.
Step 1: Insert the Awning Fabric into the Front Roller

- Lay the Awning Fabric (G) flat with the finished edge aligned to the roller opening.
- Locate the sewn-in sleeve along the top edge of the fabric.
- Slide the Front Roller Tube (F) straight into the fabric sleeve, following the arrow direction shown.
- Feed the tube evenly from one side to the other so the fabric does not bunch or twist.
- Make sure the fabric edge sits fully inside the roller channel along its entire length.
Step 2: Prepare the Roller Tube Sections

- Identify the Roller Tube Sections (J1 and J2) shown in the image.
- Locate the circular protective caps on the ends of each roller tube.
- Remove the protective caps by pulling them straight off before assembly.
- Discard the caps after removal; they are for shipping protection only.
- If a cap is damaged or breaks during removal, continue with assembly as this does not affect product use.
- Join the J1(Right Roller Tube), J2(Left Roller Tube), and J3(Middle Roller Tube) as shown in below step.
Step 3: Roll the Fabric and Assemble the Roller with Crank Mechanism

- Attach the Awning Fabric (G) to the assembled roller tube and roll the fabric only in the direction shown in the diagram.
- Ensure the front side of the fabric faces outward; the back side should not be visible once rolled.
- Keep the fabric edge aligned as you roll so it wraps evenly around the tube without wrinkles.
- Secure the roller tube using S Screws (S × 8) at the marked fixing points (No. 2), tightening evenly.
- Insert the roller tube end J1 into the Crank Mechanism (B) as shown (No. 4), ensuring the internal fittings seat fully.
- Check that the roller turns smoothly by rotating the crank and that the fabric rolls and unrolls without binding.
Step 4: Assemble the Vertical Support Poles and Support Arms

- Place the Upper Pole Caps (P) onto the top ends of the Upper Adjustable Poles (C) as shown.
- Insert each Upper Adjustable Pole (C) downward into the Locking Joint Brackets (D), aligning the adjustment holes.
- Attach the Support Arms (A) to the Locking Joint Brackets (D), making sure the arm orientation matches the diagram (No. 1).
- Slide the Lower Support Poles (E) upward into the bottom of the Locking Joint Brackets (D) until fully seated (No. 2).
- Ensure both left and right pole assemblies are built the same way and remain straight.
- Do not fully tighten any locking points yet, allowing minor adjustment in later steps.
Step 5: Adjust the Installation Height

- Position the assembled vertical support between the ground and the upper mounting surface as shown.
- Slide the Upper Adjustable Pole (C) upward or downward to reach the required installation height for your location.
- Align the adjustment holes on Pole C with the holes on the Locking Joint Bracket (D).
- Insert the Locking Bolt with Nut (Q) through the aligned holes to fix the height position.
- Tighten the locking bolt securely, ensuring the pole remains straight and stable.
Step 6: Install the Awning Assembly and Confirm Fixed Length

- Lift the assembled awning roller and fabric unit and position it between the two vertical support poles.
- Attach the roller assembly to the Support Arms (A) on both sides, following the connection points shown.
- Ensure the Upper Pole Caps (P) are firmly seated against the upper surface.
- Confirm that the awning length is fixed and cannot be adjusted; only the height can be changed.
- Check that both sides of the awning are level and aligned before proceeding.
- Make sure all connections at the support arms and poles are secure and stable.
Step 7: Install the Rear Support Bar and Fine-Tune the Height

- Join the Side Connector Tubes (H1) to both ends of the Centre Connector Tube (H2) to form one complete rear support bar.
- Slide the assembled rear support bar (H) into the rear edge of the Awning Fabric (G) as shown, ensuring it feeds in evenly.
- Attach both ends of the rear support bar to the Support Arms (A) at the indicated connection points.
- Make sure the awning fabric hangs smoothly and is evenly tensioned between both sides.
- Rotate the bottom adjustment knobs on the lower poles to fine-tune the height; the adjustable range is approximately 0–3 cm.
Final Step: Close, Lock, and Check Awning Operation

- Loosen the adjustment knob on the support bar as indicated (No. 1).
- Turn the hand crank in the direction shown (No. 2) to fully close the awning.
- Continue turning the crank until the support bar becomes vertical to the ground (No. 3).
- Once the awning is fully closed, tighten the adjustment knob to lock the position.
- Confirm the awning fabric folds smoothly without twisting or snagging.
- Check that both support poles remain stable and upright after locking.
Usage Tips
- Extend the awning only in calm weather conditions.
- Retract fully when not in use.
- Do not hang additional weight from the frame or fabric.
- Ensure fabric is dry before long-term retraction.
Maintenance & Care
- Clean fabric with mild soap and water only.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners or bleach.
- Regularly check all bolts and screws for tightness.
- Retract and protect the awning during storms or winter storage.

FAQs
1. Why won’t my retractable awning roll in smoothly?
This usually happens when the fabric is rolled in the wrong direction or becomes uneven during installation. Check that the fabric face is oriented correctly and that it wraps evenly around the roller tube without wrinkles. Reopen and re-roll the fabric slowly to restore smooth operation.
2. Can this awning be installed if the floor or ground isn’t perfectly level?
Yes, but uneven surfaces require careful height adjustment on both vertical poles. Adjust each pole evenly and confirm alignment before locking them in place. Uneven ground left uncorrected can cause tension issues and affect smooth opening and closing.
3. Why does my awning feel unstable after installation?
Instability is commonly caused by uneven pole height or loose locking bolts. Recheck that both poles are adjusted to the same height and all locking bolts and joints are fully tightened. Make sure the awning is only used in calm weather conditions.
